Them Steampunk Girlses...

Hiya, guys!
You know, I've been staring at my blogger page for days now, but feeling a little uninspired...
See, I'm trying to expand on the story -- the one my recent Fairyland explosion is involved in, but at the moment, its mostly fluttering about in my head still, so its proving tricky to pin down with words...

Here's what I have, roughly:
It all starts with Jim. Jim is approx (assumed) eight years old in our present time, and an absolute genius. Her downfall, though, is that she doesn't appreciate...well, other people, or their interactions.
Now, one day, she turns up from her "lab" (no-one knows what, or where it is, but she spends most of her time there) with a girl -- a perky, giggly, strange little girl, who seems to do nothing but ditz about, follow Jim around and clearly irritate her -- Luna.
It turns out, however, that Luna is not human at all, and is in fact a very clever droid created by Jim, with a very rare gift... something she calls an "adaptable personality chip". This somehow grants the user a unique personality, not designed or modified by the creator whatsoever.
Jim seems to think the idea is rubbish though, and creates useless, silly characters, so gives up the pursuit, and ignores Luna ever-after, leaving her to make friends elsewhere.

Here's where it gets weird...

A mysterious girl shows up; red hair, blue eyes, dressed in steampunk gear, and with an ever-familiar grumpy expression.
She reveals herself to be Jim, as an adult, who has found a way to return to this time in order to convince her younger self to continue the research and experiments on the APC, and Luna.
Although she is not willing to give too much information on the future, she introduces Laika -- another droid she created later (for undisclosed, but clearly very urgent and important reasons) who is still very smart, but has no personality or adaptability, and now no matter how hard she tries, she can not create another chip.
Despite her apparent dire need though, young Jim does not trust her adult counterpart, or have any sympathy for her cause.

The question remains of who will be victorious in this battle of brains, and what will it mean for the future either way...

Now, you probably are aware that both young and adult Jim have been with me quite some time, so who are the new guys, right?

Well, they are also from the future, where Adult Jim resides.
The future for them is a baron wasteland where you have to scavenge, brawl, and basically fight tooth and nail to survive. Thankfully, there's no shortage of technology and trinkets, so Jim does pretty well for herself, for a while, but starvation sets in, and Jim begins to resent her lack of people skills...

Without spoiling the inbetweens from there, Jim joins a group consisting of Winnified, a sniper, Mara, a fearsome rogue fighter, and Gale, another warrior, with the smarts enough to lead the group.
Jim becomes their techie, in exchange for protection, and they share all their bounty.
