Firstly, the new boy is settling in well, and has had lovely reactions from everyone that's met him so far! He's currently sitting in a soft blanket on my comfy PC chair with Jim...hope the others aren't too jealous. xP I'm still a little stuck with names, but so far Noel has really stuck, and Oliver, or Ori for short. (yes, as in the dwarf...I liked all their names!)
I don't have much in the way of clothes for him still, or shoes, because I don't want him to wear converse, but I'll work on that...maybe some sandals? He seems happy enough with how he is so far anyway, though. The outfit really suits him and brings out his colours. :3
Now! Onto the plan!
As you may have read, I'm really hoping to get my hands on an E-Line Yeon Ho at some point.
(when I have the cash...I'm still raising, and my Parents' anniversary is creeping closer!)
The idea is to recreate my two favourite Brothers, Alex and Sam, in their child forms; now, in theory, Alex will be easy, as there is already a YOSD sized doll of him, but Sam, who is a Crobidoll Nia...not so much.
Now, this is Sam:
I've been really stuck for a YOSD sized boy that would keep that sad, nervous little expression, and so I asked the members of DOA.
The only reply I've gotten so far, was someone suggesting a LUTS Honey Delf, namely Anko.
I'm grateful for the help, of course, and I see what she's getting at, but...I really don't like those dolls! They're too cutesy, and freak me out a bit...and I think the style would be too different from a small Yeon Ho too.
My ideas so far have been back in Fairyland (another brand I'm not so fond of, generally)
I've been working out how much it would take for these boys to be brought home, as well.
For Little Sam, plus eyes, wigs, clothes and shoes ...$669
And Alex, significantly less -- $155 for the stuff, but obviously, since he will have to come second hand (and with a lot of luck) I can't put a price on how much the doll himself will cost, if I can ever get him!
This will all take some time, as I have to pay off what I was loaned for the new boy, cash for my Parents' anniversary, guinea pig funds (they go through stuff like you wouldn't believe!) and of course, bills and house savings must be added every month. Its going to take some time!
Its just nice to get it out there. : )
I'm in no rush for any other dolls, and I don't want much stuff generally, so there's not much more to worry about. :3
Wish me luck!
